Wide range of U.S. businesses have been targeted in a campaign of electronic sabotage that appears to have been launched via malicious computer networks in Russia, according to the FBI.

ARLINGTON, Va., 19 Aug. 2011. The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Innovation Office (I2O) in Arlington, Va., is asking companies and colleges for ideas on technologies to safeguard U.s. Department of Defense (DOD) computer systems in the event of a cyber attack.

SpyEye, the most advanced and dangerous malware kit today, has been incorporating functionality of the Zeus malware builder kit since early 2011. Today, for the first time, SpyEye builder patch source code (for release 1.3.45) was leaked by an infamous French security researcher named Xyliton, part of the Reverse Engineers Dream Crew (RED Crew)

Google’s Android operating system is open to hacking through approximately a dozen widely-used applications, founder of boutique security firm Privateer Labs, Riley Hassell told Reuters.

Upon closer inspection of the file and the Trojan code, we can see that there are commands hidden in the image using steganography. These commands are totally invisible to the human eye, since the bits representing the commands are mathematically built into the data representing the image.

Anonymous could be planning a Nov. 5 cyber attack agianst the world’s largest social networking site, Facebook.

A single video was published to a YouTube account called FacebookOp, claiming to be from Anonymous that said the group would be hacking into Facebook and taking the site down.
