Now, the proprietors of a new ZeuS Trojanvariant are marketing their malware as a social network that lets customers file bug reports, suggest and vote on new features in upcoming versions, and track trouble tickets that can be worked on by the developers and fellow users alike.

Hackers Post Symantec Source Code After Failed Extortion Attempt

Hackers have posted source code for Symantec’s pcAnywhere software online after an attempt to extort money from the company fell through.

The extortion try is chronicled in a chain of emails that began in January and culminated with a $50,000 offer to hacker YamaTough in exchange for the code. Everything was not as it seemed, however, according to the company: The hacker was actually communicating with law enforcement.

VeriSign Hacked: Security Repeatedly Breached At Key Internet Operator

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – VeriSign Inc, the company in charge of delivering people safely to more than half the world’s websites, has been hacked repeatedly by outsiders who stole undisclosed information from the leading Internet infrastructure company.

The previously unreported breaches occurred in 2010 at the Reston, Virginia-based company, which is ultimately responsible for the integrity of Web addresses ending in .com, .net and .gov.
